Shri T Ramacharyulu joined RSS at the age of 16 and exhibited full dedication towards the Jana Sangh and held various posts in the party. When BJP was formed in 1980, he joined the party & held positions at the district and state level. He participated in the agitations held in Delhi demanding to identify Bangladesh in 1969, united Andhra Pradesh agitation held in front of Raj Bhavan, led a special Andhra movement in 1973 and actvively participated all other movements organised by the party. He was jailed during the emergency under MISA in 1973.
