India today is seen leading from the front on various global issues, committing itself to targets, coming to aid the nations in distress, extending its hands to the nations in their developmental efforts, and creating opportunities for the world through its unimaginable performance at home. In the last nine years, India has come a long way—from a fragile five to one of the top five economies in the world—an achievement that none can ignore. Moreover, as the world’s fastest growing economy, India has become a bright spot in an otherwise gloomy global scenario. The manner in which India faced the COVID-19 pandemic and stood by the nations in need in those trying times has created an image of India as a confident nation and a reliable friend.

When Australian PM Mr. Albanese calls PM Shri Modi ‘The Boss’ and New Zealand PM Mr. Chris Hipkins flies to Australia to meet PM Shri Modi, every Indian is filled with pride and a sense of gratitude for the people of Australia and New Zealand. While these nations welcome the Indian Prime Minister with open arms, with the highest awards conferred by Papua New Guinea and Fiji and PM Marape calling PM Shri Modi ‘leader of the global south’, India’s increasing global stature and the Indian PM’s impact around the world can be easily understood.
